Here on the Monterey Peninsula we are treated to some truly HORRIFIC local commercials that insult the intelligence, and cause us to cringe when we haven’t muted the TV soon enough.

Why is this?

Seriously, why do producer’s think to themselves “it’s just a local commercial . . . let’s not rock the boat and do something with any semblance of excellence?”

I have my own theory . . .  when you don’t get paid enough to put in the time and effort you don’t use any creativity whatsoever.

There are some tremendous local commercials in other locales (Like the infamous Johnson City Automotive commercials) but for the most part it seems that local commercials are stuck in a rut.
