Sink Your Teeth Into This

We all know the feeling we get when we see a restored version of our first car driving down the road, hear the music we listened to while hanging out with friends, or run into that cutie from our high school drama class years later. What gives that thrill, that longing to turn back the clock?

Nostalgia.

And it’s one of the most potent marketing drugs you can legally inject into any sales campaign.

It’s nostalgia that compels us to order the same off a menu we ordered before, and it drives half of our play lists. It’s also what’s driving women in their 30′s and 40′s to embrace a rather teenage love story in the “Twilight”/”New Moon” vampire/werewolf movies.

All the teen emotions and passions they remembered from their youth come flooding back, triggered by a clever story line, and believable characters. Brought back to a place they’re fond of, women have spent money, time and energy to re-live those feelings again and again.

Get in on the craze by “vamping” up your throwback offerings to your clients. Have something on sale for a price from an earlier time/erra, or perhaps you can offer “old-fashioned” service. Whatever you do, find a way to connect with your target audience in a way that will cause those warm and fuzzy memories to come flooding back.
